i found a tick on my skin, should i save it for doctor?

Question by levi.: i found a tick on my skin, should i save it for doctor?
I just recently found a tick on my arm. It was on top of the surface of my skin, sitting on a red bump with a mild red rash around it. I removed the tick with tweezers, and I have the tick in a cup. We’re planning on calling the doctor tomorrow to make sure I don’t have lyme disease. Should I save the tick for the doctor?

worth keeping it just in case. Although the dr may not be able to do anything with it, it might give them assurance that th bite was from a tic and nothing else so they know what they are dealing with.

Please ensure you look after yourself overnight as lyme disease is extremely serious so if at any time you don’t feel well… even a headache, best to go to your local ER/A&E.

Some county health departments offer tick testing for Lyme and other tick-borne infections. Igenex Labs (igenex.com) also offers tick testing.
